CLAIRE BICKLE

Claire Bickle is a qualified Brisbane based horticulturalist, having a Diploma in Horticulture and an Advanced Design Certificate in Permaculture Design.

She has worked in multiple areas within the horticultural industry for over 20 years.

As well as teaching horticulture for Brisbane North Institute of Tafe Claire enjoys delivering Sustainable Living Seminars for the BCC, being a guest speaker at many different gardening events and expos and writing for several horticultural publications, including Subtropical Gardening Magazine, Earth Garden Magazine special publications and press releases for the Nursery and Garden Industry association of Qld.

Her passion for everything horticultural stems from many a childhood day spent in the company of her grandmother, an avid gardener and plant lover. Now a mother of two, soon to be three, Claire is enjoying passing on that passion to the next generation within her family through her 8-year old daughter and 2-year old son. She is a strong believer in the wonders of Montessori education for children. Her daughter has been attending the Brisbane Montessori School for the past five years.

Having lived on acreage for the past 15 years, Claire enjoys pursuing her love of nature and sustainable gardening in a subtropical climate by growing with her family their own organic fruit, vegetables, herbs and the meeting with the challenge of creating a fun, educational and inspirational environment for their two children to grow up in.  Over this time Claire has also become successful breeder of various types of purebred poultry.
